Logitech Game Profiles Programs
Last night, I was watching a replay in GPL. The replay turned out to be corrupted and caused GPL to freeze up the whole computer such that I needed to do a hard shutdown. When I rebooted the computer, Logitech Profiler failed to load, giving me the dreaded 'Logitech Profiler has detected a problem and decided to shut down' with the 'Send error report' options underneath. I attempted to start Profiler manually and got the same message.
Fix Logitech Gaming Software's signature for the League of Legends profile so you do not have to update the game client executable path for each new patch. Welcome to our subreddit! Through control panel, I removed Profiler entirely and re-installed it using the Logitech disc. Removed it again, and re-installed using the same software from Logitech's downloads site. Without Profiler running, my G27 gives me only 180 degrees of rotation, rather than the 540 degrees that I've been using for many months now.
So unless I want to retrain my muscle memory (which I absolutely do not), I need to get Profiler working again. Is it possible that the hard shutdown corrupted a file that the Profiler reads but which is NOT involved in the removal/re-installation process? Like perhaps a file containing personal settings (the old 'grand_prix_lengends.wgp' file, for example)? I will investigate this possibility when I get home.
Could it be something registry- or driver-related? If that's the case, I'm gonna need some guidance fixing that. Does anyone have any other ideas? I haven't contacted customer support yet.
You guys are usually more helpful! Specs: Windows XP-Home Edition 32-bit Logitech Profiler 5.10.127, launched as part of the start up menu I always launch GPL through GEM+ while Profiler runs in the background The whole system was working flawlessly since I bought the G27 more than a year ago. I'm a man without GPL. Thank you for any help you can offer, Michael •. Michael, have you checked your hard disk for errors since you reset the machine? As you say, it's possible that the inappropriate shutdown has corrupted some files on your machine, not just the GPL or Logitech files, but possibly operating system files too.
This could cause all sorts of mayhem. Use the standard XP disk tools to check for problems, and let it repair anything it finds. Edit: I just thought of something else. Check to see if you have a recent restore point available. If no-one can solve your problem with suggestions in this thread over the next few days, then the best thing might be to go back to that save point and see if it fixes things.
Edited by Saiph, Oct 16 2012 - 12:30 PM. Well, it's a good news, bad news story. The bad news is that Profiler still isn't loading. * I deleted all *.wgp files. Profiler still won't load. * I scanned my HD for errors. Still no load.
(Thanks for that suggestion, Keith. It's been a long time since I've dealt with possibly corrupted files and I forgot that I should do that.) * I forgot to mention, Keith, that I tried system restore last night, but for some reason the restore point that I tried was unsuccessful. There were other restore points that I could try, but I have not done so yet.
Maybe after my league season is over. The good news is that I tried Craig and Bob's recommendation of going through the Game Controllers window. Santigold Santogold Rar. All of my settings, including degrees of rotation, were there! Apparently all I needed to do was open it, calibrate, confirm settings, click 'OK' and the wheel's rotation and FFB settings were just like before!
I didn't even know to look there. It should have been obvious to me, but sometimes I'm just not very bright, I guess. Thanks for the guidance, guys. Counter Strike 1.6 Non Steam. So now I'm back in the game, and very grateful for that, even if it is without Profiler.
